A Metadata-Only Feature-Augmented Method Factor for Ex-Post Correction and Attribution of Common Method Variance

Yaşlıoğlu, M. M.

arXiv, vol.2025, no.Dec, pp.1-20

How can common method variance be corrected after the data are already collected?

Common method variance is usually noticed after collection, when preventive design is no longer available. This preprint proposes a metadata-only, feature-augmented method factor that requires no additional items, allowing ex-post estimation of CMV and attribution to its likely source.

There is still something to be done after collection; ignoring CMV is not the only option.
