ECOFLIGHT: Fuel Briefing for Pilots
A fuel-saving briefing for one specific flight: live weather, safety first, rules rather than AI.
What it does
An installable web app that works offline and gives a pilot a fuel-saving briefing for one specific flight, with no hardware change and no SAF. It reads live METAR and the GFS and ECMWF winds at each flight level, shows a disagreement between the two models as a confidence cue, and lets safety flags (runway contamination, icing, windshear, tailwind) override any saving. The advice is fixed rules, not AI: 32 engine rules, each tied to a step-by-step technique card with pilot flying and pilot monitoring steps, fleet notes, ICAO radio phrasing, lists of when never to do it and a cited savings range; the 48 sources behind them are graded by reliability. It covers 18 aircraft types in three fleet groups, 10 flight phases and 3,040 airports, with in-flight tools for top of descent, a 3-degree profile check, absorbing a delay and maximum holding time; a debrief with CSV export; daily fuel and EU carbon prices with EU ETS scope detection; and optional Google sign-in for anonymous fleet statistics. No build step: plain JavaScript modules behind a strict CSP, about 100 automated tests and a preview for every pull request. Version 2.0 is a live beta and advisory only; a review by a type rating instructor or examiner (TRI or TRE) is planned before release.
