Does transformational leadership theory actually hold up in practice?
Transformational leadership is among the most studied theories in management, yet its practical counterpart is more often assumed than tested. The paper examines how the behaviours the theory predicts appear in the field, and discusses the gap between the theory and its practice.
That a theory exists does not mean it is being practised.
